 Traditional Sport massage

Ideal for sore or fatigued muscles, this is a series of strong energetic movements that will prevent muscle soreness after an event. Sport massages are a great way to flush out any impurities, and stretch tight muscles. This is a medium pressure massage recommended right before or after physical exertion.

Shiatsu & Reiki
Massage

Shiatsu is a manipulative therapy developed in Japan and incorporating techniquesof anma (Japanese traditional massage), acupressure, stretching, and Westernmassage. ... All types of acupressure generally focus on the same pressure points and so-called energy pathways, but may differ in terms of massage technique.

Sacred Stone Craniosacral
Massage

Cranial sacral therapy (also known as craniosacral therapy) is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain. Cranial sacral therapy seeks to restore the natural position of the bones and can decrease  stress from chronic injuries as well as provide relief from migraine headaches, neck and back pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (the inflammation of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull) and more.

Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Therapy

Consistent, slow, deep pressure is used to relieve chronic aches and pains. Isolated pressure applied to trigger points releases an accumulation of chemicals and lactic acid that build up in the tissues causing knots and referred pain. Myofascial release techniques can also be used as a soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility
and pain.

Optimizing your massage

Optimizing your massage

Optimizing your massage Experience

  • Read massage therapist biographies and choose a therapist that fits your needs best

  • Try to limit or refrain from drinking alcohol the night before and refrain from caffeine the day of your massage

  • Drink lots of water  the day of your massage, except 1 ½-2 hours before (so your massage isn’t interrupted by a bathroom break)

  • Communicate freely with your massage therapist both before and during your treatment. Inform them of your preferences in:
    o   Goals for session
o   Areas to focus on or avoid
    o   Pressure
  • Epsom salt baths are great for continuing the relaxation and detoxification process

  • If possible, allow for some “Downtime” post massage

  • Having a light meal or soup prepared beforehand can feel like a treat to come home to after your massage
